Having previously built power-options, an open source Linux GUI for power saving on Linux I realized how hard it is to distribute software across all the existing linux distributions. That's what lead to the creation of DistroPack: a service that easily builds your package for all the different Linux formats and hosts them with all the distribution specific repository quirks. Just share the install link with your users and you're done.
