This project is about a year in the making and has transformed quite a bit since the initial idea. -Promote- Our initial concept was a digital "Social Counter," allowing businesses to connect their social media accounts and display (with a TV or tablet) their live number of likes, followers, and even Google My Business Reviews - enticing customers and passersby to engage and improve the business's online presence. -Fundraise- The idea to create some sort of fundraising platform originated from one of our other projects, called Baby Bids (baby-bids.com). Baby Bids is an online baby pool (choose the sex, hair color, etc) that is designed for expecting parents to raise funds to offset the impending costs of a newborn. Parents can elect to accept donations from friends and family members while partaking in the game. **This was the idea - Raising funds in an unobtrusive way.** Both @colby_rueschenberg and I really liked that concept and began exploring similar scenarios. In the back of our minds, we had the project previously mentioned (Social Counter) that was being used to display live social media information on a TV or tablet. Swap out the social media information in exchange for live donations and our Social Counter project now had fundraising capabilities. -Advertise- The advertising aspect of this platform is the most exciting, and it was last to be introduced. Digital signage and advertising is obviously nothing new. What's unique about our platform is the ease of which it connects advertisers and local businesses. The local business, or entity hosting the Display, can make their Display available for advertising within minutes. For the advertiser, the process of finding opportunities, advertisement design, and payment can be accomplished in minutes.
