directree is the honest software directory - built to help founders and buyers find the right software with facts they can trust. Paste any product URL and directree builds a full, structured listing in about 30 seconds: what it does, who it's for, integrations, signals, strengths and weaknesses. Every field is labelled by how we know it -Verified or AI-inferred (clearly marked) Founders claim their listing to correct it and earn a do-follow backlink. Free for everyone.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I build software for a living - a B2B inventory SaaS, a QR tool, a renewal tracker - and every time I tried to get one of them discovered, I ran into the same thing: I couldn't really trust the directories I was listing on. Half the time you can't tell what's a real, checked fact and what's just marketing copy someone pasted in. Ratings act super precise ("8.8/10!") when they're mostly vibes. And anything new or niche basically doesn't exist.
And as a buyer? Same problem from the other side. You read a listing and quietly wonder, okay, but how do you actually know that?
So I built directree - the honest software directory.
The idea is simple: don't pretend to know things you don't. You paste a product URL, and directree puts together a proper listing in about 30 seconds - but it's always upfront about where each piece of info came from. Something it actually crawled and verified looks different from something the AI is guessing at, which looks different again from something the real founder has come in and corrected. You always know which is which. And I stayed away from made-up scores on purpose - I'd rather say "this looks strong for small teams" than slap a fake 8.4 on it and pretend that means something.
One rule ended up shaping the whole thing: making a listing isn't the same as owning it. Anyone can add a tool, but only someone who proves they control the domain can edit it - and when they do, they get a proper do-follow backlink out of it. That one line drove the claim flow, the moderation, all of it.
There's also a bet baked in here: more and more people find software by asking ChatGPT or Perplexity now, not scrolling Google. Because every listing is real, structured, and honestly labelled, these pages are built to actually get cited by the AI answer engines - and being the trustworthy source is the thing that lasts as search goes zero-click.
It's free for everyone, and it's early - so I'd genuinely love your honest feedback.
Please, head over to directree and list your product!

Seems like a promising new directory for fresh SaaS and/or AI tools to me, I certainly submitted my first. We'll see how that goes, and if all goes well, I'll submit the rest as well.
What needs improvement
One thing I have trouble finding is the embed code for the backlink. But I'm sure that will work itself out.
vs Alternatives
I have submitted my projects to a multitude of platforms, but directree is a relatively new player at this moment, with quite some momentum going.
