They decide to sell these royalties to their fans. For each 0.1% of the royalties, Digital Renaissance creates and sells an NFT. The royalty payments are transferred monthly to the wallets each NFT is a part of at that moment. This creates long-term value of the NFT and allows for autonomy and control on the part of the NFT owner to resell their asset. Exclusive Content - An artist wants to sell an exclusive behind-the-scenes video of a new music video. Digital Renaissance creates an NFT with a link to this video. However, when the video-player tries to play it, it requires the user watching to prove ownership of the wallet the NFT is in. This can be done through cryptographic signing and is part of all wallets like MetaMask. This mechanism is used to secure trillions of dollars in the crypto industry, and therefore is ideal for selling any kind of private data. Event Tickets - An artist wants to make use of the popular NFT marketplaces like OpenSea and Rarible to sell access to their events. Digital Renaissance creates the NFTs and provides the software needed by the event organizers to verify ownership at the entrance of the event. Event tickets can now be traded and swapped without any additional fees or overseeing authority by the owners. Crypto allows users to cut out the middleman, and become a true owner of the service or access they bought. These examples show the kind of technological solutions to the culture & entertainment industry Digital Renaissance aims to provide. 🌱 How it started Most of us in Digital Renaissance have been a part of the creative industry for decades, and living as an artist or working in the creative business can be a challenge. During COVID-19 this industry suffered greatly; touring (which is main income of most artists) were cancelled from one day to the next, painters were not able to do display their art and managers, publishers suffered just as much. We thought to ourselves, that there must be a way to create additional income streams for creative people and then the NFT possibilities started popping up - and there was the solution to extend the revenue streams. Our team has a rich background in the Amsterdam, Dutch and European EDM scene. For the last 15 years our team has worked with some of the biggest names in electronic dance music from around the world.
