This is the first public product from our startup Meshcapade. We aim to revolutionize the world of human body modeling, sizing, and animation. We are a spinoff from Max Planck Institute in Tübingen, Germany. We developed the world's leading statistical model that encodes realistic 3D human body shapes, sizes, and motions, called SMPL (https://smpl.is.tue.mpg.de/). This model has already become the standard for representing 3D human bodies with motion in the academic spaces for Computer Vision, Graphics and AI. At Meshcapade we are now making this model available for even wider use through our easy to use public platform. We have started off with an initial offering allowing users to upload 3D scans or body measurements. These are automatically converted to a 3D body avatar with accurate body shape and soft-tissue deformation for poses. Users can then add more motions and textures or use additional features like face-anonymization and symmetry for the final output. Output formats include OBJ, FBX & PC2. Soon we will be launching even more options for automated conversion of images, mocap and videos to 3D avatars with the same realistic body and motion capabilities!
