I made DeuxDuel. It's straight head:head voting on songs. It came out the age old discussion, which song is actually better. Nobody can truly settle it, and the charts don't help because they mostly track streams and playlist placement. That measures what got pushed, not what THE people pick when you pit two songs against each other. So, DeuxDuel just makes you pick. Two songs play their 30-second previews, tap to hear the other song early and you swipe for the winner, easy. Every vote feeds a rating system (same idea as chess or tennis rankings), so a song has to keep beating strong songs to climb and one lucky win doesn't crown anything. After you vote you see how everyone else split, and over time it builds a read on your taste. You can explore categories of different types of music, and fall back in love with songs you've forgotten. This version (1.1.0) just launched adds personalized duels. You build your own head-to-head lineup, either by picking the songs yourself or just typing or saying what you want ("2000s breakup songs", "best Kanye verses"), then challenge a friend to see whose ranking holds up. There's also a Daily Duel (yes, every day!), themed in-app events, and streaks to maintain if you need a reason to keep coming back. It's free on iOS. The free tier has ads; Plus removes them. The chart is brand new, so right now votes actually move it.
