After trying all the AI image & video detection apps i could find, it left much to be desired. It was a mixture of hard paywalls and obvious fakes that just shoot out a random result. Some even giving 2 different results for the same exact content submitted twice, and labelling photos i took on my iPhone a moment prior as "AI-Generated Content". It inspired me to make DetectAI: a free, no-signup detector that follows a real scoring formula and supports seamless social media scanning.
Hi everyone! 👋 I’m Artem, the developer of DetectAI.
As someone who uses generative AI almost daily, I used to think I was pretty good at spotting what was real and what wasn’t. I was the one who friends and family would constantly send viral images, political posts, and “crazy” clips asking if they were AI-generated or authentic.
But as generative AI improved, so did its ability to fool me. Eventually it got to the point where I was no longer confident I could even tell the difference.
I went to the App Store looking for an AI detector but everything I found was either locked behind paywalls, unreliable, or not able to easily support social media content.
That’s why I built DetectAI: a free, no-signup AI detection app with a consistent scoring formula and seamless social media scanning.
