Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Haroon, maker of DeskStride.
I've spent 15 years in the technology industry, the last 8 of them building RPA bots and automation tools for companies. The same problem kept coming up, for teams and for individuals alike: a repetitive chore stuck in a desktop app with no API. Downloading a report, copying numbers into old accounting software, renaming 500 files, filling the same Word letter from every invoice. Cloud tools like n8n, Zapier and Make mostly can't reach into a native desktop app. Enterprise RPA can, but it's heavy and the result is often readable only by its developer. Script-based tools expect everyone to write code. I wanted something in between, for a freelancer's own laptop or a whole team's desktops.
DeskStride is a desktop automation app that runs on your own computer:
- Record it once, or build it visually. Connect nodes on a canvas, or type start -> read file -> notification and a graph appears. 99 building blocks cover mouse and keyboard, windows, browsers, files, Excel and CSV, PDFs, Word, email, databases and HTTP.
- It finds buttons and fields on screen by the element itself, its image, or its text. If it still can't find the target, an attended run pauses so you can fix the screen instead of failing. Failed runs resume from the failed step.
- Start it your way: a schedule, a watched folder, an email, a local HTTP API (pairs well with n8n), or a QR code to run it from your phone on the same Wi-Fi.
- AI is optional and you connect your own. Describe a task and get a draft to review. The workflow you save replays the same way every time.
Your workflows and files are stored on your own machine, and every run is logged step by step, with screenshots when something fails.
Available today on Windows and macOS (Intel). Apple Silicon and Linux are coming soon, and a few features may work differently on Linux at first. Tell me which one you need and I'll prioritise it. One license works on up to 3 of your machines.
For the Product Hunt community there's a launch offer on this page: click the gift button at the top to copy the code and apply it at checkout. It's valid through October 15.
