Deptools helps developers go beyond vulnerability scanning by turning dependency graphs into a continuous health system. It analyzes security, licenses, maintainability, activity, popularity, community health, and other signals to generate a multidimensional Health Score. Monitor your software supply chain by tracking dependency health over time, detecting risks early, and enforcing CI/CD quality gates.

Hello all 👋
I'm Damien, co-founder of Deptools.
Deptools is the culmination of four years of research during my PhD.
My research focused on software dependency management, with a particular emphasis on dependency quality and the hidden costs buried within dependency trees.
In some way, we aimed at building the foundations for some “SonarQube-like” system for managing software dependencies.
During my thesis, I analyzed many different projects, and it became clear that most teams still don’t have a full picture of their software. They track direct dependencies and vulnerabilities, but miss the deeper structure: transitive dependencies, outdated packages, version conflicts, and long-term maintenance risk.
With Deptools, you can audit your full dependency graph, get prioritized update recommendations, track health scores over time, and enforce quality gates directly in CI/CD.
Today we support Java, Kotlin, and Android (Maven & Gradle), with JavaScript (NPM) coming next.
It's free for open-source projects.

We just launched and are actively improving Deptools, so any feedback would mean a lot 🙌
