Depo: the honest budget app that shows your safe-to-spend number today. No bank login, no BS. Free on the App Store. Most budgeting apps make you manage categories, dashboards, or connected bank accounts. Depo does something simpler: it tells you what you can safely spend today. Add your income, essentials, and savings. Depo turns what’s left into one daily number that automatically adjusts as you spend. No bank login. No spreadsheets. Just a clear answer when you’re about to spend money.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built Depo because I kept running into the same problem with budgeting apps: they gave me a lot of information, but not the answer I actually wanted.
I didn't really want another dashboard telling me how much I'd spent this month.
I wanted to open an app and know:
**Can I spend $40 today and still be okay?**
That's basically the idea behind Depo.
You add your income, the money already spoken for — rent, bills, debt, etc. — and what you want to save. Depo takes what's actually left and turns it into one number: what you can safely spend today.
Spend less? The extra carries forward.
Spend more? Tomorrow's number adjusts.
There are no bank connections, and I deliberately kept manual expense entry extremely fast instead of trying to automate everything. I wanted Depo to feel like checking the weather, not maintaining a financial system.
Since the first version I've also added things like spending stats, net worth tracking, Home Screen widgets, iCloud sync, and a “Can I afford it?” tool — but the daily number is still the entire point.
Depo is free to start and currently available on iPhone.
I'd especially love feedback on two things:
1. Does the safe-to-spend idea immediately make sense to you?
2. What's the biggest thing that has made you stop using budgeting apps in the past?
Thanks for checking it out. I'm here all day and very happy to answer anything.
