Dentity is a consumer-first digital identity platform built on open identity standards and fully W3C compliant. We empower users to regain ownership of their personal data and identity.
Interesting idea but there are already other platforms like SelfKey and Civic doing a similar thing, it's hard to see what's new here, also, with the recent breaches, how can we be sure our data is safe, there's always someone promising the moon but trust in these systems is a real issue, good luck though, curious to see how it pans out
@datacraftsman Hey Theodore! Thanks for your thoughtful feedback! Verifiable Credentials are at the core of every user’s sensitive data. Any result from a sensitive event, E.g. a user going through a KYC workflow, is promptly discarded soon after Dentity issues the user a KYC Verifiable Credential. The user owns the credentials which can only be unlocked by them after they authenticate to the system.
Dentity also leverages advanced data encryption and best-in-class security mechanisms. As the industry evolves, we always ensure we are steps ahead in compliance with the latest and greatest security out there.

I came across this site through a friend's post and while the idea of users taking back control of their data sounds cool, isn't it risky to have so much personal info tied up digitally, maybe think about adding more security options, what do y'all think
@b2bwriterq Hey Lise. Great question! No PII is stored or shared with parties on the platform, the user is in full control given the nature of Verifiable Credential technology. We follow the guidelines of the W3C (Verifiable Credentials), as well as the Decentralized Identity Foundation.

I'm intrigued by the idea of taking back control of personal data, kinda skeptical about giving all my info to yet another platform though, especially with all the talk about security breaches lately, interested to see how they handle that
@alexashum Hey Alexa! I understand your skepticism—it's crucial to feel confident about where your personal data is stored. At Dentity, we put control of your data entirely in your hands. Verifiable Credentials are at the heart of how we manage sensitive information. For example, after you complete a KYC process, any sensitive data is promptly discarded once your KYC Verifiable Credential is issued. You own these credentials, and only you can unlock them after authenticating to the system.
We also prioritize your security by employing advanced data encryption and the best security mechanisms available. As the industry evolves, we ensure that we're always ahead in compliance with the latest security standards. We're dedicated to making sure your data remains safe and in your control.

It’s great to see a platform aiming to give people control over their info again but with so many data breaches lately how can we really be sure this will stay secure and not get hacked too, any plans for extra security features or maybe some kind of insurance for users in case of a breach
Report
Kinda skeptical about all this, can we really trust a platform with our identity when so many others have failed before? Maybe it's good for now, but I worry what happens if there's a breach, or if you guys get bought out or something, what's the plan to keep everything safe long-term

Sure this sounds promising but do people really wanna hand over tons of personal data to yet another platform even if it's "consumer-first"?💁♂️ Seems like a risky bet with all the data breaches these days...

Wow, this new platform sounds super useful, can't believe how many documents it can verify, founder really seems like they've thought of everything, just wondering if there's any concern about privacy with so much integration, overall looks promising
