Hello, my name is Nick and I am a clinical informatics pharmacist and the creator of DentalRx - a pharmacology platform for dentists. The goal of DentalRx is to bring safer and more effective prescribing capabilities to Dentists.
Unfortunately, the dental professional has long been the ugly stepchild of the healthcare field. This means there has been few advancements in regards to technology and software promoting safety. This is where I hope that DentalRx can bridge the gap.
With my experience in hospital pharmacy informatics, I aim to provide enterprise level medical resources and e-prescribing to community dental clinics - all for free.
DentalRx currently offers ALL of the following modules at no cost:
> Patient Med History: Keep track of and gain actionable insights from your patients' medication and medical history.
> Prescribing Monographs: Access a wide range of dental medications with detailed clinical information.
> Practice Guidelines: Reference the latest clinical guidelines surrounding dental pharmacology.
> Clinical Calculators: Calculate doses accurately for safe prescribing.
> Support: Get support directly from a clinical pharmacist for any queries or assistance.
> Patient Reports: Save and print reports with actionable information to your practice management software.
> Patient Handouts: Foster patient relationships with printable handouts that provide understandable healthcare insights.
> e-Prescription Templates: Speed up your workflow with customizable prescription templates.
> Brand Integration: Integrate your clinic's logo for a seamless patient experience.
In all honesty, I am going to have to find some way to monetize this; but it has always been my sense that this type of medical information should be widely available to promote better healthcare. If you have any suggestions please let me know!
There are over 1250 dentists now using DentalRx globally, and I am keen to grow the app even further. From what I have asked our dentists, they use the app for these reasons:
> Enhanced Patient Care: Improved patient outcomes with accurate and safe medication management.
> Increased Efficiency: Streamlined pharmacology practices, saving time for both the dentist and their patients.
> Evidence-Based: A trustworthy platform built on the latest clinical evidence.
If you are interested in trying out the app, are wondering how it was created, or would like to help me grow the platform please let me know!
I am excited to hear your feedback!

This sounds like a very promising platform, Nick! I appreciate your efforts to enhance safety in dental prescribing. Have you considered implementing a freemium model for monetization? This could provide basic features for free while offering premium options for advanced functionalities. Also, what KPIs are you tracking to gauge the app's impact on patient outcomes? Looking forward to seeing how DentalRx can evolve!

@isabellarosewilson Hi Isabella - thank you for your really great comment and insight!
I have actually thought about and implemented a Freemium model at an earlier point in the apps lifecycle. One of the problems I found with it is that it gave a bad taste (so to say) in regards to restricting access to healthcare. One other problem I felt with it was that there was not enough value and PMF to justify paying for the restricted features.
In regards to KPIs for impact on patient outcomes that is a really great insight! I actually never thought about tracking KPIs for patients. Just on initial thought I feel like it would be hard to track these metrics as they are technically clinic-side for which I do not have access (for security and patient confidentiality reasons). I would probably have to conduct some sort of retrospective study for the clinics involved - but this is a great idea and something I will be looking into in more detail.
Thank you!
Wow, Nick! DentalRx sounds like a game changer for dentists. The fact that itβs free and packed with features like prescribing monographs and clinical calculators is impressive. It's about time someone stepped up to bridge the gap in dental pharmacology technology! Iβm curious, do you have any ideas on how you might monetize it while keeping the core features accessible? Looking forward to seeing how this evolves. Keep up the great work! #DentalTech #Makers

@elke_qin thanks for the support Elke! I've been thinking about the monetization process. Things like Freemium might work - but its deciding what to gate behind paywalls always feels sorta bad (especially in healthcare).
I was more so leaning towards something like a very niche paid sponsorship program for other dental companies. So for example: charge $ to a dental startup that is looking to expand reach and put in a sponsored banner on the apps home screen. Essentially niche private advertising.
How would you feel about that type of idea?

@star_boat Hey thanks for the support! I really appreciate it. I think at this stage things as simple as 5-star ratings on the App and Play store really go a long way to increase visibility and user adoption.
Cheers!
