Hey Product Hunt community! 👋 We’re thrilled to introduce Dekaf Connect to you all today! 🚀 Dekaf Connect offers an interactive map for venues with convenient guest-to-guest messaging. Bluetooth BLE beacons are positioned on tables, allowing guests to join the virtual interior map, check in at a table with their avatar, and use the app's features. Owners have access to a Builder tool to create and manage the interactive interior map and register and attach beacons to tables. Our app does not connect to the Bluetooth devices. Instead, it uses signal strength to determine the closest table, providing accurate proximity validation and a smoother user experience compared to methods like QR code scanning. Key features and benefits for the guests: - A pragmatic, easy and effective way to communicate directly with the person at a nearby table. Overcoming difficulties and obstacles such as social anxiety and fear of rejection, for the approaching person. In a non-intrusive and discreet manner, without intruding into the personal space of the person of interest. Avoiding trivial but valid drawbacks such as loud music and dim lighting that often lead to ineffective communication. - Easily identify the profile of a person from a nearby table, using the virtual interactive map. No lists of profiles, scrolling and looking at profile images. - Opportunity to interact directly with host-related entities, like a server, bartender or DJ, which could be positioned on the map - The place map offers the potential for future features like sending drinks to tables, calling servers, requesting songs, interior orientation, and reading menus. This creates a go-to virtual space that operates independently yet complements the venue's main environment and operations. - Combination of Anonymous login, optional profile info, and simplified messaging feature, with only latest message stored on the server, for highest privacy and seamless interaction. - A pragmatic and effective alternative to existing online dating methods. Modern online dating apps often suffer from issues such as fake profiles, misrepresented intentions, deceiving photos, limited visibility and interaction opportunities, time-consuming preliminary chats, low user numbers, “ghosting,” and skewed gender ratios. Dekaf Connect addresses many of these disadvantages with its localized hybrid interaction method (online messaging plus direct visual confirmation of the person at the nearby table). The app encourages more real-life interactions, motivating people to step away from online-only dating apps and engage more in physical social settings. - An effective alternative to existing offline dating methods, such as direct approach or speed dating. - Easy and fast check-in by table without the hassle of QR code scanning or Bluetooth connections. The app detects signals from Bluetooth transmitters to determine the nearest table based on signal strength. These BLE transmitters broadcast an ID and are commonly used in store marketing and museums for proximity detection, such as notifying users when they are near a specific store or exhibit. In this case, the beacons help identify proximity to a specific table. Key features and benefits for the owners: - Simple, flexible and easy to use Builder tool for creating a map design, register beacons, assign beacon to table, reposition tables, create multiple regions. Administrative panel to receive notifications, manage current map state, etc. - Possibility for easy creation of thematic events/nights. Any club can host a virtual speed dating event, with minimum administrative effort.
