Hey Product Hunt! 👋
Sharing DeepSeek V4.1 Flash as a community hunter, not a member of the DeepSeek team.
🧠 This release brings text and image understanding together with long-context processing and tool calling—a useful combination to explore for coding assistants and AI agents.
🔌 It's available through DeepSeek's API as deepseek-flash, with support for OpenAI- and Anthropic-compatible APIs, including the Responses API.
🛠️ What I'd test first: turning a screenshot into a working interface, navigating a large codebase, and completing a multi-step task without getting stuck in retry loops.
I'm interested in cost per completed task and reliability, not just tokens per second.
What would you try first: coding, visual understanding, or an agent workflow? 👇
how is this A) on producthunt competing with indie devs and B) still having such few upvotes?
Deepseek produces great models, I'm just surprised by the platform choice.

Regarding A: Product Hunt has always had major brands like the iPhone and ChatGPT launched by Hunters, so I don’t think this is unusual for the platform.
Regarding B: I feel like product discovery and upvoting on PH have drifted pretty far from what they originally were. Even for a standout product like DeepSeek, it’s still difficult to get meaningful visibility or traffic unless you play into the ecosystem of paid promotion and upvote services.
