Most duplicate finders only catch byte-identical files. Deduplo also finds the same thing saved differently — cropped, rotated, resized, re-encoded, screenshotted, or a RAW sitting beside its JPEG — and it does this across photos, video, audio and documents alike. It never removes the last copy of a set, everything goes to the Recycle Bin with multi-step undo, and nothing ever leaves your machine: no account, no upload, no telemetry. Scanning is free forever. One-time licence, no subscription.

Hi Product Hunt 👋
I built Deduplo because every duplicate cleaner I tried had one of three problems: it only found byte-identical files, it wanted a subscription, or it quietly uploaded my library somewhere.
The byte-identical part was the real frustration. My drive wasn't full of perfect copies — it was full of the same photo saved five different ways. A WhatsApp re-save. A screenshot of a screenshot. A resized version I made for email. A RAW sitting next to the JPEG my camera wrote beside it. Byte comparison sees five unrelated files. I see one photograph.
So Deduplo does three things differently:
🔍 It finds near-duplicates, not just exact copies — cropped, rotated, resized, re-encoded, screenshotted — and it treats video, audio and documents the same way, not just photos. It reads over 370 file formats in all: 70 image types plus 34 camera RAW formats, 37 video, 38 audio, and 189 kinds of document. It can also group shots by time, place or burst so you keep the best frame of a series instead of staring at twelve near-identical ones.
🛟 Safe by design, and this is where most of the work went. Removals go to the Recycle Bin with multi-step undo. It never removes the last copy of a set. Every file is re-checked in the moment before it's touched, so anything you edited after the scan is left alone. And if you'd rather not delete at all, the extra copies can be renamed, moved, copied or zipped instead.
🔒 Fully local. No account, no upload, no telemetry, and the cache it keeps on disk is encrypted.
The thing that changed most while building it: I kept finding ways the app could lose someone's only copy of a file — a trailing space in a filename, a clock change, a full Recycle Bin that silently deletes instead. Most of the last few months went into closing those, not into adding features.
Finding is free forever at any depth, and so are your first few clean-ups. After that it's a one-time $29.99 licence — one person, every version 1 update included, no subscription. It's on the Microsoft Store and at deduplo.com, in 16 languages.
