Hi Product Hunt 👋
I'm a solo developer, and Deco My Tree is my take on the "decorate my tree" trend: you make a tree, share one link, and friends hang a gift with a note on it. They don't need an app or an account. The notes stay sealed until Christmas Day, so the tree keeps filling up until the 25th.
How it's built:
• Website: plain HTML and vanilla JavaScript, generated by a small Node build script and served from Cloudflare Workers static assets. No framework, so a tree opens fast on any phone, in 19 languages.
• Backend: one Cloudflare Worker with a D1 (SQLite) database for accounts, trees and notes. Workers rate limiting keeps spam out; word filters and private reports handle moderation; cron triggers send the push campaigns.
• Private by design: visitors only ever get the tree, its topper and a gift count. Gifts, names and notes go to the owner alone.
• Android app: Expo and React Native, with push notifications sent through Firebase Cloud Messaging straight from the Worker, and RevenueCat for the optional Pro.
• Ready for AI assistants: an MCP server and OAuth API let an assistant look up a tree and, with your OK, leave a note for you.
• Built with Claude: Claude (Claude Code) was my pair programmer for most of the code and copy, and it rendered these launch images from the live site with headless Chrome.
I'd love your feedback. If you make a tree, drop your link below and I'll hang the first gift 🎁
keeping the notes sealed until christmas is cute
no account for the person leaving a gift is probably what makes the link easy to pass around a group chat
