Deaddrop lets you send files securely and anonymously. Just upload your file, give it a name, set a password, and share the name and password — or simply send a direct link. It’s that simple.

👋 Hey Product Hunt!
Today, I'm excited to launch DeadDrop.space!
I built DeadDrop to make secure file sharing ridiculously simple — and truly private.
Most file-sharing apps require signups, tracking, or trusting a server with your data. DeadDrop is different:
🔒 Zero-Knowledge Encryption — files are encrypted before they leave your device
📨 Share using just a simple name + password (or a direct link)
🗑️ Files auto-delete after a set time or download limit
🛡️ Upload files up to 10MB for free
🕵️♂️ No accounts, no tracking, no personal info collected
Zero-knowledge means we can’t see your files — even if we wanted to. Your privacy stays completely in your hands.
I built DeadDrop because sometimes you just need to send something quickly and securely, without creating accounts, setting permissions, or worrying who's watching.
Would love your feedback, ideas, and support! ❤️
Feel free to try uploading a file — it's secure and stress-free.

@rayid_ashraf Is there a limit on the size or type of files that can be uploaded through Deaddrop?
Daily Planner
@noah_ortiz Yeah, for now, you can share files up to 10 MB in size. And there is no restriction on file type, you can share anything!
I love the straightforwardness here upload, set a password and you’re done but does Deaddrop use end-to-end encryption for files, or is there any server-side handling involved?
Daily Planner
@matthew_phillips4 I'm glad you liked it! Yes, DeadDrop uses client-side encryption — your file is encrypted right in your browser using AES-256 encryption before it’s uploaded. Only the encrypted file is stored on the server, and your password is never saved or sent to us.
The simplicity of Deaddrop is its greatest asset no unnecessary features, no tracking, just straightforward secure sharing. It feels like a tool you can trust right off the bat.

@nicholas_anderson0 That’s exactly what I was aiming for — just pure, simple, private sharing.
Means a lot to hear it feels trustworthy.
The concept is fantastic minimalistic, clean and to the point.

@matthew_flores1 Thank you Matthew! That’s exactly what I was aiming for — keeping it simple, clean, and focused.
It’s fantastic to see a service that offers secure and anonymous file sharing but how long do files stick around before they disappear and can users decide that?
Daily Planner
@jesus_porter Thank you! Yes, users have full control over that. When uploading a file on DeadDrop, you can choose how many days the file will stay available — anywhere from 1 to 30 days. After the selected time, the file is automatically deleted.
That's impressive. Does Deaddrop require users to create an account, or is it genuinely 100% anonymous for both the sender and the receiver?
Daily Planner
@woody_robles DeadDrop is genuinely 100% anonymous — no account is needed for either the sender or the receiver. Users just upload a file, set a key, and share it. However, like with any website, your IP address could technically be logged or compromised. If you want extra privacy, I recommend using a VPN while using DeadDrop. Thanks!
