That's an awesome idea. Is this an idea from you, or this is something that already exist? As I never saw a desk like this. Also, I'm noticing that's plywood; which is quite expensive even if it has a lot of advantages. Do you plan on making something more affordable for people - not companies? Thanks!

@akdm_ Thanks Anthony! 😄 I had the idea after furnishing my co-working space and designing my own desks there, it's been lingering in my head for a few years. Current focus is very much on companies; I think even outside pricing our biggest USP's lay there... but who knows, it's still very young and getting lots of great feedback that's taking me in different directions. I'll follow where the need is! Defo want to look at different material options though.

Quite neat product there! I use plywood (birch ply) quite a bit too but wonder if you would have problem with bending when cut into smaller strips in your product?

Brutal Teardowns

Neat idea - I'm actually just looking at replacing the desk I've had for 20 years, which is a 3 part modular U-shape thing. It's big and cumbersome, and every time I move I have to find a place it fits in, or use half a desk, or something. That being said... my first thought when I look at your site is, "Those pieces do not look flush"

@rossdcurrie Thanks 😄heheh, I know first-hand what that's like. Yeaaa - mentioned this in another comment below - but this has been & is a big feedback point. We've managed to massively reduce the issue of the gaps and levelling since our first versions [and the one that the site photography is based on] by tongue-and-grooving and improving our fixing system. But we're also looking at mitigating it by adding the option of wider slats of wood [ie 60cm+ wide] in the area[s] where one would mostly use paper/mice. We're also looking at potentially some form of blotter pad.

Love this. So hard to stand out in such a crowded furniture space, but this approach is the perfect blend of simplicity and novelty. Will definitely be using de-sk for my next desk purchase.
