DB Atelier is a fast, beautiful, and extensible database client. Manage PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, and MS SQL Server with split panes, ERD diagrams, and a visual query builder. Additional database engines can be added through extensions. AI-assisted SQL editing and MCP support are opt-in, so you can bring DB Atelier into your existing AI workflow.

Hey everyone! I'm Aria, one of the people behind DB Atelier.
We built this because existing database clients either felt bloated and slow, got in our way, or only supported a limited set of database engines. I wanted something lightweight, fast, and actually pleasant to use daily. We also wanted maximum flexibility to arrange our workspace layout however we like.
DB Atelier is a lightweight desktop database client with split panes, tabbed views, and a clean interface with just the necessary features. It natively supports PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, and MS SQL Server. Additional databases and functionalities like analytics and visualization can be added through extensions.
DB Atelier also covers your AI workflow with context-aware tab completion. That said, we chose a different approach for communicating with AI agents: instead of embedding a chat UI that inherently limits you to our framework, we provide an MCP server so your AI agent can work directly with your databases via DB Atelier, from simple queries and data analytics to interacting with the app's interface.
We also provide configuration to limit database connection visibility and a proper read-only guard to prevent accidents in your production databases.
It started as a side project to scratch our own itch as people who work with databases pretty much daily. The focus has been on getting the core experience right rather than cramming in every feature possible.
DB Atelier is available on macOS and Windows (Linux is next on the list!).
Would love to hear what you think and what database workflows annoy you the most!
