Most data cleaning tools require uploading sensitive files to the cloud or learning complex formulas. DataFrog is different. It brings Python's powerful fuzzy logic into a simple, offline desktop app. Key Features: 1. Fuzzy Merge: Combine files even if names don't match 100% (e.g. 'Jon' vs 'John'). 2. I am writing this 48 hours before I start my mandatory military service. I’ll be offline for a year.
Last weeks, I automated a boring Excel task using Python (cleaning duplicates, fuzzy matching names like 'Jon' vs 'John', and merging files). I realized I couldn't let this script die on my hard drive while I'm away.
I spent my final days of freedom turning that script into a user-friendly, offline Desktop App (EXE) for Windows & Mac.
What it does:
🪄 Fuzzy Match: Detects similar text (typos) automatically.
📂 Merge Files: Combines messy datasets without VLOOKUP.
🔒 Secure: Runs 100% offline. No cloud uploads.
It’s my first micro-SaaS/Tool. I’m leaving it here as my "legacy" project.
