Hey Product Hunters! My name's Christian, I'm a solo app developer & I’ve been shipping indie apps for years; but this is the first one that has shown some traction...

I've long had this frustration with passing links, chunks of code, a bit of text, or screenshots across my devices. Being a Flutter dev, I'm constantly hopping between my main Windows PC, Google Pixel, my Mac Mini, & occasionally even my old iPhone. I find it incredibly annoying to have to either email myself, or create a useless google doc that I'll never revisit that takes me too many clicks to spin up.

So, after many many months of building other apps to no avail, I'm building CtrlV. The vision: Build an app that allows me to quickly, & simply pass links, or text between my devices; but I needed validation that others have this problem too.

So, I built a landing page using Flutter, some ChatGPT-generated device/ui mockups, & an hour or two. Then, I threw up a post on Reddit. A playbook I'd only "heard" about working from other indie devs; as my Reddit experience w/ promotion wasn't positive.

But, within hours it had numerous comments and upvotes. Eventually reaching 15k views, leading to 50 waitlist signups! I was honestly floored & in disbelief that I'd actually found a useful idea to work on. Alas, I immediately got to building & took on ~50 beta users & have used their feedback to get us here to 1.0! (i.e. They requested image support & I implemented it!)

Users are telling me this is an awesome, useful app that they love & it is absolutely warming my heart & making me feel like I haven't completely wasted these past ~3 weeks of my life (combine that with the ~5 years of shooting darts AKA apps at the wall).

Nevertheless, I hope others find this tool just as useful :) I appreciate every single user & it means so much to a guy who's just trying to build cool apps that bring people value. I'm a freelancer by day, but honestly work has been sparse lately & so I've kinda been putting all my eggs into this basket. But, belief in myself is the only thing I have (being a college dropout lol).

So, thank you for the support, I look forward to hearing from you guys, gaining feedback, & getting to make a tangible difference in a small part of people's lives & just one of everydays small little stressors. Cheers :)

TL;DR: CtrlV sends text, links & images across iPhone, Android, Mac & Windows. Built in Flutter by an indie dev, after personal frustration.

I've been an early supporter of CtrlV and do encourage everyone to give it a try. Christian's effort shines through - the app is already polished, thanks to his hard work and talent as a solo developer. This guy is genuine and skilled!

I can confidently say CtrlV stands out with its simplicity and usefulness. Christian has my full support - and all my best wishes as CtrlV makes its mark!

@ashish_bhateja Thank you so much Ashish :))) Receiving feedback like this still feels surreal & I very much appreciate it. Thank you for your continued support & for giving me the confidence & validation that this app serves a valid, real world purpose.

Appreciate it & can't thank you enough for the kind words about the app & my skills :) It's easy to lose confidence as an indie dev, but people like you have made me see just how awesome it feels when you make an app that people want.

Cheers, my friend.
