Cropped is a native screenshot, annotation and screen recording app with a full image and video optimizer built in. Snap an area, window or screen, record at up to 60 fps, mark it up, then export WebP, AVIF, MP4, WebM or GIF at a fraction of the size. Drag results from the floating Drop window straight into Slack, Mail or a browser. Runs locally, originals untouched. Mac & Windows (capture on Apple Silicon first). $24.99 once, updates for life, 14-day free trial with no signup.

Hey Product Hunt π I'm Waldo, and I'm so excited to launch Cropped.
A bit about me: I've spent more than a decade in web development, including over five years at Webflow, where I built and scaled a global support team and developed the team structures and customer experience frameworks behind it.
Every day I was bouncing between several tools: one to grab a screenshot or recording, another to mark it up, another to trim video clips, and a fourth (usually a website) to shrink assets before it could go into Websites, a PR, or prompt. Cropped is my attempt to fold all of that into one desktop app that never sends your files anywhere.
How it works:
πΈ Capture: an area (on a frozen screen with a magnifier), a window or the full screen. Record at 30 or 60 fps, or 120 fps on 120 Hz screens. On a Mac you can include system sound and your mic. Cropped's recording controls never show up in the video.
βοΈ Annotate & trim: arrows, boxes, circles, text, drawing, a focus mask, hide and crop. Recordings get a quick trim step first.
ποΈ Compress & share: each capture runs through your preset (WebP, AVIF, JPEG or PNG; MP4, WebM or GIF with H.264, HEVC, AV1 or VP9), lands on your clipboard, and you drag it out of the floating Drop window into any app.
It's also a full batch optimizer for any image or video you drop in, with 51 platform size presets, collections, and your own presets.
A few notes:
Capture works on Apple Silicon Macs (macOS 14 or later) and on Windows. On Windows, recordings include your mic but not computer sound yet. Intel Macs aren't supported right now.
No subscription: $24.99 once, with every future update included. Code EARLY10 takes $10 off.
Additional subscription offerings may be available for extra features down the road, but the core product remains yours with your favorite offline desktop version available
One license covers the Macs and PCs you personally use, and there's a 30-day money-back guarantee.
14-day free trial, no sign-up and no card.
I'd love your feedback, especially on what's missing before you'd swap out your current screenshot tool. I'll be here all day answering questions!
