Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built Countried because I was frustrated that there was nowhere to properly log and rate countries the way Letterboxd lets you log films. My travel list lives in a notes app. I had no memory of what I thought of Morocco vs Portugal. I had no way to compare with friends beyond "how many have you done?" I got tired of print out photo albums and not being able to track photos by country.
So I built this.
You can rate each country across 16 categories (food, safety, value for money, nightlife, nature, and more), see your map fill in, track multiple visits, collate photos by country, share to a feed, and track your travel stats to compare on a leaderboard with friends.
It's a prototype right now — data doesn't persist between sessions yet, that's the next thing I'm building. But the full product experience is there and I'd love honest feedback from real travellers.
A few things I'd genuinely love to know:
Does the rating system feel right, or are there categories missing?
Would you actually use the social/leaderboard features, or is this more of a personal log?
What would make you pay for it?
What features could take it to the next level?
Please let me know your thoughts!

How does the rating system work for the 16 categories, do you assign one score per visit or per country overall, and can you go back and edit them later?

@hiranurvjy5 After a visit you review the country and can choose to rank on as many or as few categories as you’d like. This is designed so if you do a city break you are not forced to rate the beaches or nature. You can edit the rankings you give at any time. Additional visits mean you get a new chance to rank the country. These rankings will then be averaged with your previous rankings rather than override them.

The 16 rating categories really make you think about places you visited in a way you normally wouldn't. Loved seeing my map slowly fill in.

@mahmutyeilmorz Glad to hear it. Are there any additional categories you’d like to see?
