Every platform with user content needs a way to review it, act on it, and enforce community guidelines or terms of use consistently. Coop is a free, self-hosted console that handles the whole workflow: queues, assignments, appeals, and enforcement, across any harm area your platform faces, from spam and fraud to CSAM. Apache 2.0 licensed and built by a nonprofit, so there's no vendor contract, no pricing tier, and your data never leaves your infrastructure.

Hey PH 👋 I'm Juliet, Head of Product at ROOST, a nonprofit building free, open source trust and safety infrastructure.
🚨 Every platform that lets users post content eventually needs to moderate it. The workflow is always roughly the same: something gets flagged, someone has to review it, a decision gets made, and that decision has to be enforced consistently. Most teams end up building this themselves, badly, under time pressure.
🐦 Coop is your new internal tool for that workflow: free, self-hosted, and configurable to whatever harm areas your platform actually faces. It handles queues, reviewer assignments, appeals, policy reasons, and enforcement actions across whatever your platform needs to moderate whether it's spam, fraud, harassment, CSAM, or things unique to your userbase. For platforms with child safety obligations, it also integrates with leading CSAM detection tools and files reports directly to NCMEC's CyberTipline from inside the UI.
💰 A lot of existing companies' services are out of budget for startups. One adopter serving tens of millions of users estimates a ~95% reduction in annual safety tooling costs since moving to Coop. Kyodo, a messaging platform with over 150M messages sent, put it this way:
"Coop allowed us to take user safety to a whole other level...It has totally transformed how we protect people, especially kids, and the support from ROOST has been impeccable."
🛠️ It's Apache 2.0 licensed, Docker-deployable, and we run biweekly public working group calls. Happy to answer questions about self-hosting, integrations, or how Coop fits into a broader safety stack.
