Convert files between 400+ formats — documents, images, video, audio,
ebooks, archives and fonts. Use it in the browser, call the REST API with
chained jobs and webhooks, or connect the MCP server so Claude, ChatGPT
and Gemini can convert files directly. OCR makes scanned PDFs searchable,
and files can come straight from Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive.
We launched here last October as a plain file converter — drop a file, pick a format, get it back. That still works, across 400+ formats.
What's new is the part we actually want feedback on: an MCP server. Assistants can call tools now, but almost nothing in file conversion exposes any, so you still download a file, convert it in a tab, and upload it again. Connect Convert.Online once and you can ask Claude to convert something mid-conversation and it happens right there.
Alongside it there's a REST API with chained jobs — pull from S3, convert, drop on SFTP in one request — plus webhooks and a sandbox mode that returns a real response shape without a key.
Also since the last launch:
OCR — turns a scanned PDF into a searchable one, in 17 languages.
Imports from Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive, so a file already in the cloud doesn't have to come home first.
