Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Stefan, the founder and developer behind Convert2Print. This project started with what I thought was a relatively simple problem: how do you take a digital image and reliably prepare it for professional printing? I quickly discovered that “300 DPI” was only a tiny part of the answer. Physical dimensions, source resolution, aspect ratios, colour spaces, ICC profiles, CMYK conversion, bleed, PDF/X-4, output intent and validation all have to work together. Professional tools already exist for most of these individual tasks. What I wanted to remove was the need for the user to understand which tools to use, in which order, and which technical decisions to make. That gradually turned Convert2Print from a converter into a deterministic prepress engine with dedicated workflows for photos, illustrations and PDFs, including batch processing. More recently, I built an AI-to-poster workflow on top of the same engine. An original AI artwork is analysed first, the system determines which physical poster sizes are actually suitable for that source, and after the customer chooses a size, the production file is prepared and sent into professional print fulfilment. I've tested that complete chain myself — from an original AI-generated artwork to receiving the finished physical poster. The principle behind the whole project has become very simple: The user shouldn't need to understand prepress. The system still should.
