Hi everyone, I am happy to present to you - Controllable, a centralized remote configuration management platform. Building software at my last stint, I frequently ran into problems around storing dynamic application configurations. If we stored configs in static locations like config files - they couldn't be changed at runtime. If we wanted dynamic configs, we ended up storing configs in random databases all over the places, where we would run into issues around access management / ACLs, figuring out who changed what a.k.a audits, building dashboards to view and modify those configs, data validation issues (which led to a downtime on certain occasions), scale, etc. Controllable provides a config platform to address the above issues. On top of that, Controllable also provides a powerful segmentation engine to define configurations across a segmentation tree. It also contains a rule engine to apply configurations based on logical expressions. For the future, we plan to introduce features like Change Requests to have an entire change-approve-apply configuration workflow, A/B testing to integrate with the segmentation engine and an insights platform to track how metrics corresponding to the configurations are trending.
