Brief comment to allow for better explantion:
I'm starting a new gaming community that allows users to basically do what they want in relation to games. If they've played a game they love or hate, they can write a review for the game, rate it, add it to a list, like/share it and so on. Think Letterboxd but for games.
The idea came about because although sites like Gamespot and IGN allow for some user input, the sites are monopolised by official reviews by the site teams with media and other stuff. You can submit your own reviews, post on forums, like games and build a collection on Gamespot, but it's often hidden away by the official reviews and posts and can be nightmare to navigate at times.
Like Letterboxd, I want Contrllr to be user-centric, pulling in games from MobyGames once their API is done, and users adding in reviews, rating and lists. The design of the site will be very image heavy with immediate impact, and full of information for the user to delve into. Still undecided to allow user media, but definitely a link to a YouTube trailer.
I'm currently putting the last touches to a lot of the design, and am looking for a team that can help improve my design, and help get this out the door as an MVP then build on top. I would presume the backend and architecture will be custom, so WordPress and other CMSs are out of the question.
You can check out the design so far on Dribbble and let me know what you think so far, feedback, questions and idea. And, of course, help if you can provide it :)
