Context Brief is a macOS menu bar app that captures high-signal context from the app you’re in (GitHub, Jira, Slack, Notion, web pages, and more) with ⌃⌘C, then pastes one clean, agent-ready brief with ⌃⌘V. Unlike copy-paste tools, it extracts beyond visible content, densifies noisy text, combines multiple snapshots into one task context, and keeps a local context library on-device.
Hello 👋
I built this to eliminate the context-switching tax before every coding-agent session. I kept losing time jumping between tickets, PRs, docs, and chat threads, then manually capturing, rewriting, or copying context for the agent. The project started as a simple “copy from current window” utility, then evolved into a full capture-and-compile workflow: multi-source snapshots, signal-focused cleaning, and one pasteable brief. The goal stayed constant—give agents all the external context they need, with almost no friction.
