From the site: How do you know Consider.it works? Has there been research? Yes! Consider.it was invented at the University of Washington as part of the National Science Foundation funded doctoral research of Consider.it founder Travis Kriplean. Our research objective was to create a method by which large groups of people could civily deliberate together online and find common ground, even on contentious topics. The research was conducted in collaboration with colleagues in Computer Science, Political Communication, Statistics, and Human-centered Design. --- Consider.it seems like an impactful method to invite communities into discussions! Users can simply join the discussion by leaving a mark on a scale (disagree/agree). They can echo others' opinions or contribute their own. Great to see how others in the community think about matters as well. Looks like Seattle used it back in 2015 to develop a plan for their growth.
