ConsentCollect is a specialized medical-grade Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) designed to transform standard electronic signatures into legally binding, high-integrity clinical data assets. Unlike generic signature platforms, ConsentCollect enforces patient comprehension, sequences multi-party signing, gathers device forensics, and commits immutable audit trails.

Hi everyone, I wanted to share ConsentCollect with you. It is a digital consent platform we built specifically for specialty clinics and clinical research sites. Most electronic signature platforms treat documents as static PDFs. But in healthcare, a signature is only part of the process. The real challenges are compliance, patient understanding, and data retention laws. Standard tools do not check if you are using invalid legal language or if your form is written at a reading level that patients cannot understand. There is also a major conflict between GDPR data erasure requests and HIPAA requirements to retain forensic proof of consent for legal defense. We built ConsentCollect to solve these specific issues. First, we built a compliance validator directly into the workspace. It flags prohibited clauses, checks that the document stays below a sixth grade reading level, and identifies regional regulatory issues like GDPR or CCPA requirements before you send the form. Second, we focus on actual understanding. The platform can lock the signing flow until informational videos are watched, and it includes a built-in quiz that patients must pass to verify they understand the risks and their right to withdraw. Third, it enforces a strict signing sequence. The patient signs first, then the witness, and the investigator countersigns last. It also uses temporary tokens so that witnesses or clinicians only see the fields they are allowed to interact with. For privacy, we use a hashing system that lets clinics delete a patient's personal data upon request while keeping a cryptographic fingerprint. This lets you prove the consent was valid in court without storing personal information forever. We also added point of care features. A clinician can display a single QR code in the room so all parties can join and sign on their own devices, while the clinician tracks progress on a central dashboard. The tool runs on Next.js, Convex, and Vercel which makes it fast and keeps the clinics' dashboards updated in real time.
