hi y'all! I'm so glad that you are happy to use CompassCAD, a free to use, yet simple CAD tools to use for everyone. CompassCAD removes all of the extra bloat, and every single line of code is done to optimize and be effective in their usage, so older computers can have the same experience with higher end computers, while trying to consume very little memory and CPU usage. the story began when I had a copy of AutoCAD laying around in my backup drive, and since I only have 8GB RAM on my computer, AutoCAD still feels sluggish, even for the older variants such as 2014, 2017, etc, so a solution is needed. the first CompassCAD iteration was based on WC5, which was sluggish, but due to the nature of open and understandable code, I can just modify it only a few lines. until now, the engine is rewritten and an optimized CAD software is born. CompassCAD is also very active in development, so feel free to develop and send your feedbacks so your demands could be met. thanks! zeankun.dev
