This looks like a great prospecting tool. Maybe it should have some sort of networking aspect to it, like it can pair up random people that it thinks might work well together given that they both ended up on the same idea and have complementing skills.

@kingromstar Yes! That's one of the features on the roadmap - co-founder matching. I think YC's platform does this really well in some ways, but I see an opportunity here to match based on a deeper level, since we can see into what the founders are planning to build.

@joel_mulkey Congrats on the launch CompanyCraft team! AI-assisted business planning sounds interesting. I think this area will only improve along with the evolution of AI and very promising area! What kind of industries do you mainly support? I thought if there were detailed pages for different industries, the visitors would be more assured that CompanyCraft is for them.

There are probably some holes there though, so if you use the app and see anything it doesn't support well, I'd love to hear about it. My personal passion is supporting entrepreneurs who are mission-driven, but that can cover a lot of ground industry-wise too. Good thought on the detail pages on the site, I'll have to think through how we could implement that (since too many would probably clutter things).

@rimash Thanks - yes, asking and answering the right questions makes a huge difference! In the research section users can either manually fill out the market, sub-category, competitors, and attributes for their competitors. Or they can use "AI Auto-Research", which is a powerful workflow that automates those steps. Behind the scenes Auto-Research will run 60-80 AI-powered steps to find data and make decisions. That includes simple things like doing Google searches to find market reports relevant to the idea and then selecting the best one. But it also includes more complex tasks like figuring out (based on industry reports, blogs, and competitor websites, and other sources) what strength and weakness attributes to use when weighing competitors in the market. It's a cool process to see work! Auto-Research uses GPT-4 with unique prompts for each step (which took many hours to fine-tune) that incorporate information on who the founder is, what the idea is being researched, and existing data already found on the market and competitors. It's also rather expensive for us to run, since there are so many GPT-4 powered steps (which is why it's a Pro-only feature)!

@drsudba Thanks for the feedback! The AI is able to keep up with changing market trends through 2 main mechanisms: 1. When generating business ideas, the design is that the user collaborates with our AI, providing "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" feedback with some explanation. Through 2-3 iterations our users can get to highly-tailored ideas that are relevant for exactly what the user wants to work on. 2. In our research functionality, due to how we retrieve live data from the Internet and incorporate it into our prompts, the LLM works with real-world live data as it's analyzing the market and competitors. Regarding understanding the nuances of human entrepreneurship, that's a combination of the training data fed into the LLM (by OpenAI currently), plus careful prompting. We do quite a bit of prompt engineering to get the best results and nuance out.

This looks like an incredibly useful tool for entrepreneurs! As someone who has tried starting a business in the past, I know how challenging it can be to validate your ideas, do thorough market research, and create a solid business plan. CompanyCraft seems to automate and streamline so much of that process. I love that it can generate tailored business ideas based on your unique background and interests. No more spinning your wheels trying to come up with a viable concept. The automated market and competitive research also sounds like a huge time saver. And being able to quickly create a polished business plan you can use for funding is invaluable.
