I built this to make one of the standard valuation methods in investment banking and corporate finance accessible to more people. Comparable company analysis is widely used to estimate what a business may be worth by looking at how similar public companies are valued in the market. It is a core part of valuation work across investment banking and corporate finance, and it is also commonly used in M&A alongside methods like DCF and precedent transactions. The problem is that this kind of analysis is usually buried inside spreadsheets, terminals, or advisory workflows that feel inaccessible if you are not already working in finance. So I built Patron Libertad Valuation to make that process simpler. The product helps users estimate the value of a private company using trading multiples from comparable listed companies. You can filter public companies by sector, country, and market cap, identify a more relevant peer group, and get to a clearer valuation starting point much faster. While building it, the main shift was simplification. My first instinct was to show more data and more complexity. But the real value came from making the workflow easier: focus on the right peer set, surface the key multiples, and make the method understandable without turning it into a full banking model. The current version is available in Spanish because that is the first market I am building for, but I wanted to launch early, get feedback, and improve it in public.
