Struggling to start coding? CommitCat helps developers focus for 30 minutes, complete a commit, and get rewarded with streaks, coins, and a cheering cat. A tiny companion for building consistent habits.

Hi Product Hunt!
CommitCat is a tiny app we built to help developers stop procrastinating and just start.
The idea came from a personal struggle — I wanted to work on side projects or study algorithms after work, but I was too drained to start.
So I made a rule: "Just 30 minutes. One commit. That’s all."
CommitCat was born to make that ritual a little easier, and a lot cuter.
What it does:
- A 30-minute focus timer designed for developers
- A cute cat that cheers you on when you finish
- Tracks your commit streaks and success rate
- Gives you coins and tiny rewards for building consistency
Who it’s for:
- Developers with side projects they never start
- People learning to code and needing structure
- Anyone who wants to build a habit of coding daily
- Devs who just love cats
We’re here to share the tool that helped us build better habits (and have fun doing it).
If CommitCat helps even a few devs beat that “ugh, I don’t wanna start” feeling — it’ll be a win.
We’d love to hear what you think, especially:
- Is 30 minutes enough for you to build momentum?
- What motivates you to stay consistent in your work?
Thanks for reading — and happy committing!
(And yes — tap the cat, and it moves! 🐾)
