Colorize.design extracts color palettes from a URL. Simply input a link, and the tool generates color schemes based on the website’s visual layout, pulling dominant colors from the favicon, homepage screenshots, and even analyzing the HTML, CSS, and JS files.

Hey everyone! 👋
I’m Nestoras, the creator of colorize.design, and I’m super excited to share it with you today! 🚀
colorize.design was born out of my own frustration. Whenever I came across a beautifully designed website, I wanted an easy way to grab its color palette without manually inspecting elements or using browser extensions. So, after tinkering around in my free time on my days off, I built this simple, free tool that extracts color palettes from any website just by entering a URL.
How it works:
🌐 Paste a URL
🎨 Instantly get the website’s color palette
📋 Copy colors or download the full palette for your design or dev projects
I hope this tool saves you time and sparks creativity in your work! Would love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or feature requests! 🙌
Great job and good luck with your launch! Just out of curiosity: what are you using for the screenshots?
Hey @floydma! The core functionality of colorize.design is built around:
Puppeteer/Headless Chrome: To load websites and take screenshots
ColorThief: For color extraction from images
Custom regex patterns: To find color declarations in code
Color grouping using nearest color algorithms: To organize colors by similar hues and tones
The backend is hosted in a VPS using docker and nodejs
Great work @nestoras_tsonas. Very useful tool. Good luck and all the best 🤞
