Hey Product Hunt — I'm Joey, a solo builder. Coil (coil.trade) started as a system I built to trade my own account with my own AI agent, because I wanted the discipline of rules with the legwork done by software I could read. What one $29 purchase gets you (one-time, no subscription — launch price, regular $39): A scanner that scores every name across the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, and a macro book (bonds, income, gold & metals, commodities) for leadership — relative strength, and whether the name is "coiled" at real support. A dashboard that shows the whole board. An engine that trades the scanner's published scores by rule — long-only, structural stops of 4–14% built from volume-profile and fib levels, and an intraday-thrust guard so it doesn't chase the open. Downturns mean cash and defensive macro rotation, not shorting. It's agent-native: it runs inside your own AI agent (built for Claude Code; adaptable) and drives your own brokerage through the broker's MCP (built for Robinhood's). Credentials never leave your machine. macOS + Python, ships with a 100+ assertion self-test suite and onboarding. The honest part, because it matters more here than anywhere: The ranking brain backtests at +638% cumulative for 2017–2026H1 vs SPY's +282% over the same period, survivorship-free. That outperformance concentrates in leadership regimes. Through 2025 it ran roughly even with SPY — at about one-third less max drawdown. The pull-ahead came when market leadership got rewarded. The backtest is research, not client returns. The live engine is newly live — weeks, not years. It may use a leveraged ETF (e.g. SOXL) to accelerate a semiconductor leader — long side only, reduced size, never inverse ETFs. Leveraged funds can lose money very fast, including most of a position. the scanner actually feels useful, scored names are clear and the support entries lined up with what i was watching on my own charts.
