Hi ProductHunt, We’re Ricardo and Alexander and are excited to bring you Cogram. It’s really frustrating to work with data without knowing SQL. You know what you want, but just can’t express it in code to get the insights you need. So you spend hours googling how to write queries, you grapple with a visual query tool that’s clunky and overcomplicated, and eventually end up asking someone for help. Cogram has you covered by translating questions in plain English into SQL code. Cogram then runs the code to retrieve the insights you need. In less than a minute you can connect Cogram to your database or data warehouse and just start asking questions. It isn’t perfect — it’s an early glimpse of a future where computers speak our language. We’d love for you to experience it! Rick & Alex Getting started: Cogram supports SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift and BigQuery – check out our short guide to get started: https://bit.ly/3vRzWNZ. If you’re interested in a custom integration, please reach out at hey@cogram.com.

@alexvboe Congrats on the launch! Any plans to add GCP, didn't see this one on the homepage.
Ricardo Wölker
@dragos_bulugean Are you thinking of a specific GCP product? If it's BigQuery then that's technically already supported :) Would love to learn more about your use case
Dragos Bulugean
@ric_wo Yes, I was thinking of BigQuery, thanks!
Basharath
Cool product. I've seen such feature using GPT-3 open AI. Congrats on the launch.
Alexander v Boetticher
@basharath thank you -- we're actually using OpenAI's Codex model, which is a version of GPT-3 that's optimised for code.
Jeremy Dorn
This looks really cool. Do you require data to follow a specific schema like Segment or Snowplow?
Ricardo Wölker
Thanks @jeremy_dorn. Cogram extracts the schema automatically when it connects to your database, so there's no need to provide it manually. Here's how it works (skip to 0:40 for the db connection part): https://youtu.be/UvCVtxoMNwk?t=38
Otto Söderlund
This looks so cool! And can you actually speak to it?
Alexander v Boetticher
@superotto thanks! It's not something we support at the moment - do you have a use case in mind?
Otto Söderlund
@alexvboe I was thinking of it as a quick way to ask for specific information. Like pressing a key command on my Mac and saying "what were last months final sales numbers and month-on-month growth?" and then instantly getting that information pulled out from the data source. Making data faster accessible to support more decision makings.
Max Clarke
This is awesome -- will radically expand the number of people who can derive value from data without knowing SQL.
Sachin Jain
Awesome work! This is going to simplify a lot of things for someone who doesn't have the skills to write complex queries! Good luck
Solene Oudet
This is awesome - can't wait to try it out!
