And when someone hands you theirs on a document, you need a fast way to check it's valid. I went looking for a tool to do this and kept landing on the same thing: sites that looked like they hadn't been touched since 2010, cluttered with ads, barely usable on a phone, and offering exactly two features — encode and decode. That was it. Nothing built for how people actually use this in 2026. So I set out to build something modern: a clean, mobile-first UI that doesn't fight you, plus features the old tools never bothered with. A camera scanner that reads the code straight off a tessera sanitaria instead of making you type 16 characters by hand. A bulk-verify mode for checking a whole list at once, since accountants and HR teams rarely deal with just one code. And support for English, French, and Spanish, since a lot of the people who need this are expats navigating a system that's new to them. Everything runs client-side, too — nothing you type is ever sent to a server. With a tool handling personal identifying data, that felt like the baseline, not a bonus.
