CodeZero is a VS Code extension that gathers context across connected repositories so developers can understand features, trace dependencies, and plan changes before implementation. It works alongside coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, and GitHub Copilot to give them a clearer view of the system before they start changing code.

Hey Product Hunt! We built CodeZero around a problem we kept seeing with AI-assisted development: coding agents can write code quickly, but on an existing system, the difficult part often happens before the first edit. Where is this feature already implemented? Which other repositories are involved? What depends on this code? What else could break if we change it? In practice, a lot of that context gets discovered while the agent is already implementing the change. CodeZero is our attempt to move that understanding earlier in the workflow. It runs inside VS Code and gathers context across the repositories your organisation connects. You can trace how features are implemented, explore dependencies across repositories, investigate the codebase, and review a plan before implementation begins. The idea is simple: Understand → Plan → Build We’re not trying to replace the coding tools developers already use. CodeZero works alongside tools like Claude Code, Codex, and GitHub Copilot by giving that workflow a better understanding of the software that already exists. There’s a free plan, and I’d especially love feedback from developers working with larger or multi-repo codebases: Where does your coding agent lose context today?

The problem with normal AI coding assistants is that , everytime you need to provide the context to them manually - you need to explain everytime how the microservices are interconnected , and this sometimes becomes annoying and time consuming. Codezero solves this by directly building a multi-repository graph - from which your AI coding assistants directly take context , without you manually providing context everytime you open your AI assistants for some feature development .

If possible, the CodeZero team should consider introducing more features that cover the entire software development lifecycle, such as automated testing, code reviews, debugging, and deployment workflows. Bringing these capabilities together would make CodeZero even more comprehensive and could significantly enhance the overall developer experience and productivity.

I chose CodeZero because it provides a more structured way for the coding agent to understand the relationships across the codebase, rather than having to manually provide that context each time.

CodeZero has made the work of the developers very easy. Since it has all the knowledge of cross-repositories it takes very less time to build any feature. Apart from this it also consumes less token. Truly an amazing product!!
