▎ Hi Product Hunt 👋 ▎ ▎ I'm Gregory, and CODE-STORE is a code host that runs on the machine in front ▎ of you. ▎ ▎ It does what you'd expect from a cloud one: real git repositories with ▎ history, branches, diffs, merges and tags, a browser interface to browse, ▎ search, edit and upload, syntax highlighting, rendered Markdown, ZIP ▎ downloads, and content search across every repository at once. You can git ▎ clone, pull and push against it like any other remote. You can import an ▎ existing repository from a URL, or a whole GitHub account in one go, private ▎ repositories included. ▎ ▎ The part I care most about: it never phones home. No account, no telemetry, ▎ no update check. The only outbound call it ever makes is a repository import ▎ you explicitly asked for. Unplug the network and nothing about it changes. ▎ ▎ The other part I care about is not losing your work. Every write is atomic ▎ and space-checked, backups run on a schedule and restore from inside the ▎ app, git fsck is surfaced in plain language, and uncommitted work is ▎ snapshotted every 15 minutes so it's recoverable. Licensing never locks you ▎ out of a repository — that's a deliberate line, and there's a test holding ▎ it. ▎ ▎ Being straight with you about where it isn't finished: ▎ - Linux and Windows only. There's no macOS build on sale. ▎ - The builds aren't code-signed, so Windows shows a SmartScreen warning on ▎ first run. Every download has a published SHA-256 you can check. ▎ - Single user. It's a tool for one person across their own machines, not a ▎ team server. ▎ ▎ £149, paid once, yours permanently.
