Congrats on the launch! I think there’s so much potential of this product. Love to see it helping people save time/resource in managing cloud services (which supposed to be hands off when advertised) and focus on the core of their businesses.

@ivynorth Automation is the key, there is no doubt! We thrive to make cloud cost efficiency as seamless as possible!🥷
Daniele Packard
@ivynorth Thank you Qiao! Definitely agreed that growing/innovating in the cloud with cost efficiency should accelerate core business, not distract from it

Common pain point! All the best to the team with Cloudthread, awesome presentation too! Thoughts/Ideas - something is cheaper/better at AWS, something - at Google, Azure and other niche cloud providers. Will we be able to hop seamlessly between providers/combine services to minimize costs leveraging real-time rates for different features/microservices? Will we be able to estimate/minimize carbon footprint from our cumulative cloud utilization? Disruptive product is coming to market, best of luck!

@ivan_g All great questions, Ivan! In my opinion, in order for all that to happen, more technology development should happen along with demonopolization of cloud economy. While we have few large players our there brutally locking consumers in and earning outrageous margins (8000%😳 ) there is little opportunity for carbon footprint elimination and radical cost decrease. Again, it is all just my personal opinion.
Ivan
@iliasemenov 8000% is crazy, hope this to be reduced/shared (with Cloudthread!) at some point 0_0 this project seems to make a nice contribution to demonopolization! Recently came across Snowflake - it is not advertised much but they are offering combinations of cloud services from various providers to reduce costs - seems to be one of the big reasons they have customers. For me it would be super fun to learn carbon footprint from my applications/web-services and would probably affect my design decisions! I am just brainstorming and this is getting truly exciting, thank you for your insights and inspiration. All the support on your journey!

Yes! The cost of deploying new features in the cloud is always filled with uncertainty -- billing models of different platforms are complex, and the data they provide is too fine grain for me to make sense of without investing a lot of effort/analysis, so I often just accept increases in billing as a fact of life Looking forward to seeing what you can bring to this space
Daniele Packard
@daniel_packard Thanks Daniel for the thoughtful response! Definitely agreed - cost analysis up front and during product launches shouldn't be a huge time suck - it should be easy to understand billing efficiency - this is our goal!
Piyush
Good luck, I would love to engineer something that does a lot of heavy lifting.
Daniele Packard
@piyush_p Hi Piyush, appreciate your comment! Please email me (info in my original comment above, PH not letting me post again) with more context on what you have in mind - great to connect with others who are passionate about this space

Congratulations on the launch guys! Huge market to tackle 🚀
Daniele Packard
@simonvl With the rapid increase in cloud adoption (only accelerated by covid) there's definitely a lot of teams building in the cloud - we hope our unique approach can help those teams be confident in sustained cost efficiency!
Alexander Habovda
Great idea. Well done
