🎉🎉🎉My 7-years-hobby project just leveled up! Originally developed as a handy tool for my own use while I worked at AWS and at Microsoft with Azure, it has now become a daily tool for employees and engineers from Microsoft, AWS and hundreds consulting companies. It offers a quick and simple way to compare specifications, savings options, and pricing for EC2 / VMs / Instances across the three major public cloud providers. 🛠️ Over the last 10 months as a side project, during weekends and holidays, we've hardly worked on: + Adding support for AWS & GCP, + Introducing a bunch of new features: batch export, unified search, etc., + Implementing a fresh new UI, + Migrating our database to Clickhouse, + Updating pricing plans. 📈 It's now processing around 8GB of SKUs and HTML pages daily, re-training ML models, and serving approximately 2.5M requests per month. From its inception 7 years ago with only ~100 users per week, it is now used by 50k unique users monthly. Rewritten completely from C# to Nextjs and Python (believe it or not, learning German is way easier than figuring out all these fancy TypeScript frameworks). 🚀 Meet a new rebranded https://cloudprice.net - your go-to for quick cloud provider price comparisons. #CloudComputing #AWS #GCP #Azure

congratulations on the launch, victor kiselev! cloudprice.net sounds like a valuable tool for cloud users and industry professionals alike. your dedication to evolving it from a personal project to a widely used resource is truly inspiring. i'm curious, what was the biggest challenge you faced when expanding your tool to include support for aws and gcp?
Victor Kiselev
@mashy Hi Albert and thanks for you message. The biggest challenge was to research and understand different formats, aspects and nuances that each cloud has. There are a lot of things that are not documented and even official calculators sometimes missing them as well. For example even one family of M - instances on GCP have different SKUs depending on their size. That's some kind additional fee that appears from the certain size and such things not documented at all.
