Hi everyone! 👋 I'm excited to share Clicklastica, a lightweight WordPress plugin that helps discourage casual copying of website content with no setup required.
Just activate the plugin and it starts working by blocking right-click, common copy shortcuts, text selection, image dragging, and developer tool shortcuts. It also reduces long-press copying on many supported mobile browsers.
I built Clicklastica because I wanted a simple solution that works quietly in the background without slowing down a website or requiring complicated settings.
I'd love to hear your feedback and feature ideas. Thanks for checking it out! 😊

Does this cause any issues with accessibility tools like screen readers or with users who actually need to copy things like email addresses or appointment info?

@fikretzbto Thanks for the question. Clicklastica is designed to discourage casual copying by public visitors. Whether that trade-off is appropriate depends on the purpose of the website, so site owners can decide if it's the right fit for their audience.

@fikretzbto For websites that need visitors to copy information such as email addresses, phone numbers, or appointment details, this type of protection may not be the right fit. In the latest update, administrators, editors, and other selected user roles can be excluded from the restrictions, making it more flexible for site owners and staff.

Drop-in protection like this is honestly such a relief, no fiddling with settings and it just works on the frontend. The right-click block plus text selection lockdown felt seamless on both desktop and mobile.
