I'm building Canva apps out of Syscon Australia (Melbourne). Click-to-Cut came out of a problem I kept running into with my own design work: cutting an object — a face, hair, a car — out of a photo usually means switching to a separate background-removal tool, waiting on a cloud AI model, and losing your Canva workflow in the process. Click-to-Cut does the segmentation right inside Canva, on local resources — no AI model call, no upload-and-wait. You get clean, editable segments you can move, resize, or restyle as separate layers straight away. It's the second app from Syscon Australia — HexGrid Overlay is already live on Canva — and I built Click-to-Cut the same way: solve a real friction point in my own design process first, then ship it as a Canva app so anyone else hitting the same wall can use it too. Would genuinely love to hear what you think, especially if you do a lot of photo compositing or product-image work in Canva — what would make this more useful for your workflow?

Tips for cleaner cuts + what should we build next?

Hey everyone I'm Tas, the developer behind Click-to-Cut. A few quick tips to get the cleanest segments:

Use a photo with clear contrast between the object and its background Click-to-Cut works best when edges are well-defined.
If a piece comes out rougher than you'd like, zoom in before cutting for finer control.
Every segment stays fully editable as a separate layer afterward, so you can reposition, resize, or restyle each piece independently.

I'm actively working on the next version and would love real input: what's the one feature that would make this more useful for your workflow? (Automatic object detection, batch cutting, finer precision tell me what you're missing.)
