Clavio is a hands-free AI keyboard for Mac. Hold a key or say “Hey Clavio,” talk in any app, and finished text — cleaned up, punctuated, in the right tone — types itself where your cursor is. Per-app styles, 28 languages, no length limit. Free to start.

Does it work well with code editors like VS Code where you usually want raw dictation without cleanup messing up syntax or variable names?
@sinemb27 Yes — and this is exactly why polishing is a per-app choice, not a global mode. For VS Code you can set the profile to verbatim: Clavio types exactly what you said, no AI rewriting touching your syntax. A personal dictionary keeps variable names and jargon spelled right (you teach it "useEffect" once, it never writes "use effect" again).
One honest note: where dictation really shines for developers is the natural-language half of the day — prompts to AI coding agents, commit messages, PR descriptions, Slack — rather than typing symbol-heavy code character by character. For full code-by-voice with commands, a dedicated tool like Talon is the better fit; plenty of people run both side by side. Would love to hear how it behaves in your setup!
Finally tried Clavio yesterday and the per-app tone thing is genuinely handy, especially switching between Slack and a more formal doc. Punctuation cleanup caught me off guard in a good way.
@glzaro44d Really glad the per-app switching clicked for you — that's the feature we obsess over most. The punctuation part is the AI inferring where sentences start and end from how you actually speak, so you never have to say "comma" out loud. If you dictate in more than one language, try mixing them mid-sentence — it handles that too.
The per-app styles are a really thoughtful touch, and the no-length-limit thing is huge for anyone who thinks faster than they type.
@ferhat1ffx Appreciate that! The no-length-limit part matters more than people expect — built-in dictation cuts off after a stretch, which is brutal mid-thought. Clavio keeps listening as long as you keep talking (there's a configurable safety cap in Settings if you ever want one). And if you think faster than you type, try the always-on mode — no key to hold at all.
