Clarity is a music player for people who own their audio files, not another walled-garden streaming app. Stream straight from your WebDAV/NAS server with automatic offline caching, no cables or sync software — just drag files in from any browser on Wi-Fi. Free: 10-band EQ, non-destructive tag editing, A-B repeat. Pro: pitch-independent speed (0.75x-2.0x), real-time pitch shift (±12 semitones), album art editing.
I built Clarity because I had a NAS full of music and language-study audio, and every iOS player either wanted me to upload everything to a walled-garden streaming service or made me manually sync files over cable. I wanted something that just streams straight from WebDAV, caches what I actually listen to, and gives me real speed/pitch control for practicing.
Free tier is a fully usable player, tags included. Pro just unlocks the practice tools (pitch, speed) and album art editing.
Some highlights:
🎧 Bring your own files — MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV, FLAC. No catalog, no subscription to listen.
🗄️ Native WebDAV/NAS streaming with automatic offline caching — plays your Synology/TrueNAS/Nextcloud library like it's local.
📡 Zero-cable Wi-Fi transfer — drag files onto your iPhone from any browser on the same network.
🎛️ 10-band EQ with custom presets, free.
🔁 A-B repeat + granular skip (1s/3s/5s/10s) for real practice loops.
🏷️ Non-destructive tag editing, free — clean up messy metadata without touching your original files.
🐢 Speed 0.75x–2.0x that doesn't shift pitch, plus an independent real-time pitch shifter (±12 semitones) when you actually want to change the key — Pro.
Would love to hear what a NAS/self-hosting or language-learning crowd thinks — happy to answer anything about the WebDAV setup or the audio engine.
