Why I built CitySignal
More buyers now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI answers instead of scrolling search results. Most tools that claim to track “AI visibility” give you one opaque score you can’t verify. I wanted something more honest: ask real buyer questions, see whether your brand was mentioned, whether your domain was actually cited as a source, which competitors showed up instead, and the exact URLs returned. Every result carries a date, a sample size, and the method behind it, so you can treat it as a directional sample instead of a fake “ranking.”
What feedback would help most
Is the result useful at first glance? After running the free check, did you know what to do next, or was anything unclear?
Do you trust the method? Does counting only structured source citations (not just brand mentions in text) feel right? What would make the score more credible?
Which buyer questions would you test first? This tells me what use cases to build around.
What would make you pay? Weekly monitoring, competitor alerts, agency white-label reports: which of these matters, and what’s missing?
What confused or put you off? Pricing, wording, anything that made you hesitate.
Optional one-line tagline: “See if AI cites you when buyers ask. A dated, transparent sample, not a mystery score.”
Two things I noticed that could affect first impressions on Product Hunt:
Personal Gmail on the pricing section. The PayPal merchant address (a Gmail) is shown publicly in the pricing and FAQ text. Visitors may read that as less trustworthy. A business email or just “secure PayPal checkout” would look more professional.
Your own story. If there’s a real personal reason behind the project (for example, noticing your own products weren’t appearing in AI answers), add one sentence about it. Maker comments with a genuine origin tend to get more engagement than general ones. I left it out because I don’t want to invent it for you.
