A pure-deduction code-breaking game. The global Daily Challenge is provably fair: each day's code comes from drand, a public randomness beacon nobody controls — not even the dev. 7 modes, no-account challenge links, playable on web too.
Hey Product Hunt! Solo dev here 👋
CipherBreaker started with a simple frustration: most "brain games" are
match-three with a lab coat on. I wanted the real thing — a game where
every puzzle is solvable by deduction alone, and being lucky earns you
nothing.
The part I'm proudest of is the Daily Challenge. It's one shared puzzle
for the whole world, and it's provably fair: each day's code is derived
from drand, a public randomness beacon run by Cloudflare, EPFL and
others. Nobody picks the puzzle — not even me. The proof is printed on
every result card, and anyone can verify it (or just play today's
puzzle in the browser) at cipherbreaker.app.
A few other things worth knowing:
🧩 7 modes — from daily warm-ups to HEIST: 3 minutes, rolling codes
🔗 Challenge links — set a secret code, send a link, a friend gets 10
guesses. No accounts; the entire challenge travels inside the URL.
🏆 Leagues + AI opponents that adapt to how you play
💰 Monetization: free, ads hard-capped at 10/day, one-time $2.99
removes them forever. No subscriptions, no energy meters.
I'd genuinely love your feedback — on the game, the provable-fairness
idea, anything. I'll be here all day answering questions.
