@mikeyeva great question, thank you! The monetization part is done through Web Monetization provider https://coil.com/. And yes, we are very similar to the mentioned platforms, but we do not want to compete with them. Creators can use Cinnamon as a complementary tool today and leverage our unique tools. I have a YouTube channel with 33 videos and 68k views that I never made a cent on because of all the roving copyright claims and complete inability for smaller creators to be heard on the platform. I made more on my first video at Cinnamon than I ever did on YouTube, with only a fraction of the followers. Traditional Social Media companies make billions off the content of their users, and share only a very small fraction of that revenue with those creators. Those creators run the risk of being demonetized or deplatformed at any moment. Cinnamon Video has a much fairer model, you get paid instantly for the time Subscribers spent watching your video. You know longer need to pepper your videos with ads, or interrupt your own content to mention your sponsor (which is super annoying as a consumer) - you can just create the content you want to create. It's an incredible platform and my life has absolutely improved for having found it.

Cinnamon currently is the best example of how the proposed Web Monetization standard could disrupt the primary monetization of the Web today: privacy and experience invasive ads. Everyone should go get a Coil subscription today and every creator should add a Web Monetization tag to their content. And if you publish video, you should start pushing your audience to Cinnamon.
